DRESSAGE MASTERS CHAMPIONSHIP 21ST AND 22ND July
Regional Qualified Combinations

The Dressage Masters Championship at
Dressage at Hickstead

'How To Qualify'

Southern Region competitors qualify in a points system from the listed venues in affiliated classes. Contact the venues for details of which shows are Dressage Masters qualifiers. Competitors gaining points will be given points sheets to send to the office of Dressage at Hickstead.

A qualification letter for the Southern region semi finals will be sent to the highest point scorers in the Novice, Elementary, Medium and Advanced Medium.

The Small and Large tour (and the Ponies, Juniors and Young Riders from Southern Region only) will qualify directly to the D.M. Finals in the same way.

For qualification details from all other regions please contact the regional venue.

There is a Semi Final held in every region from which you qualify for the Dressage Masters Championships at Hickstead in July. You can only compete in the Semi Final for the region where you qualified.

These championships, with qualifiers all over the country, were the brain child of Dane Rawlins. Dane felt that there was a need for a competitive league for riders of all levels. To fill this gap, he set up the Dressage Masters League. Riders can compete from Novice up to Grand Prix, with the finals being held at the prestigious Dressage at Hickstead International show each year.

The razzmatazz of this big show gives the finals of the Dressage Masters a real championship feel with excitement and anticipation for each of the sections. Riders get to compete in the arenas with the nations’ flags flying, grandstands of spectators and mounted prize givings.

This championship league, has already seen emerging rider-horse partnerships make their mark with an eye on future selection for national and international representation, challenging established pairings. "This has to be good for the development of new talent in our sport", said Dane Rawlins "and we will be testing our riders and their horses at the highest levels, expecting them to set new standards of excellence".

Dressage Masters Championships Finals
4th & 5th August 2007

Considering the postponement of the Championships Finals from 23rd & 24th July to 4th & 5th August, virtually all of our original entrants competed. Some entrants even changed their Regional Finals in order to compete in this increasingly popular competition!

With much of the International show still set up, many competitors commented that the show had maintained its “international, championship final” atmosphere.

Well done to all the competitors from all over the UK who competed in the Qualifiers and the Finals. You all made these Championships a fantastic event, with ever increasing standards of competition.
