Team London Dressage Championships
Wednesday 3rd July 2019
When you live and work or grow up in inner City London, aspirations to being a dressage rider can seem unattainable, yet London boasts the the highest concentration of riding establishment in the country with 50+ schools located within the M25. There is little opportunity for many dedicated, regular riders who don’t own their own horses to compete in anything but in-house competitions, so when In 2011 Dressage at Hickstead ran the first Team London Riding Schools Championships then many schools jumped at the chance to ride at the prestigious venue and take the first small step in their competitive careers. Since 2014 the championships have grown and are now open to Riding Schools outside of the M25.
Schools are invited to send teams of four who must be riding horses that work in the riding school and aimed at riders who don’t own their own horses or compete regularly. Competitors range from adult once a week riders to children and working pupils.
