Hickstead British Young Horse Championship

                    

This prestigious competition was devised by Dane Rawlins in 1995.  The qualifiers are co-ordinated by British Dressage in association with the British International Trainers Foundation and Dressage at Hickstead.  The aim of this championship is to assist and encourage the production of top quality young dressage horses that will eventually go on to represent their country internationally.

 

The qualifying rounds are run at Premier League Shows with the Championships at the Hickstead International Show in July.  These classes are for 5yr and 6yr old horses at two levels National and International, it is possible to qualify the same horse for both National and International Championships.

Several young champions have gone on to international honours ie: Escapado,  Astonish, Keystone Dimaggio, Fitzgeraldo, Utopia, Valegro-, Forest Gump.
